oh....My.....GOD!!

Not sure if that's a movie quote or not, but it's the only thing I have to say at the moment. I know I promised a drunken update last night, but as I didn't arrive home until 3:30, that's a.m. boys and girls, I didn't have it in me. I swear, sometimes living in Nevada is my own personal cross to bear. I don't know how things are where you live, but there's no 'stop selling alcohol' time in Nevada. It's kinda scary, really. If I had wanted to, I could have stopped at 7-Eleven and picked up a pint of liquor. Or any of the 5 24 hr grocery stores, and picked up a fifth.

Let's see. K was the first person to recognize me. She's one of the people I knew after High School too, so that's not unexpected. Saw a lot of people, had a lot of fun. Drank a LOT of beer. I saw H, my crush. You know, that one...Your forever. God, she looked good. Circumstances didn't allow me to talk to her last night, but I'm sure we'll chat at dinner tonight. If I don't fucking die first.

7:15 is an early wake up call when you get home at 3:30, let me tell you. It's about 3:45 p.m. now, and I'm trying to decide if I have enough time for a short nap. Golf was good. Long tho, as there was a bit of a cock up centered around the shotgun start, so we just lined up. Made for a long wait to get started. I forgot sunscreen again, and got eaten up pretty well by the sun. Heh, happily I plan on wearing a long-sleeved shirt tonight.

Saw Harrold last night too. One of my best buds. I shot pictures of his wedding for him. That was my gift to them. Sometimes, it's almost criminal that I get out of buying/agonizing over a gift by the simple expedient of working 2 or 3 hrs, and getting a free meal, and free booze.

So far, so good, I have to say. I'm pretty sure I'm going to take a hour here and get a good power nap. Just to give you some perspective, I think the first beer was cracked on the 2nd hole...what...8:45-9:00 a.m. It went down hill from there. Not that I'm totally swacked or anything, and of course, I've been using cabs/sober friends to get around, but I'm so tired. And I still have a dinner to go to. My throat is sore from talking over the music last night, and believe me when I tell you that I can.

So, I want to say that I'll update after dinner, but no promises.

God hates me, that's what it is. Hate him back. Works for me

So...the day of the reunion, and I wake up with my right eye bothering me. I pull my ass to the bathroom to shower and the like. Look at my reflection to find that something, a mosquito, I'm guessing, decided to bite me in my sleep. On my right eyelid. My eye was swolen up like...I don't know what. But not attractive at all.

Oh well, that's life, I think. Do the shower thing, go downstairs to make coffee, grab the paper, and get my brush. Not enough beans to make coffee. Paper's either late or not arriving (don't get me started on the lameness of my paper carrier), and my hairbrush is nowhere to be found. I can hear some of you laughing, but when you have long hair, and I do, it's a necessity.

I eventually found my brush, so, one thing less. And, as I write this, lunch at work again, my eye problem has resolved itself, so at least I don't look like a freak anymore.

I anticipate a lot of beer consumption tonight, and will post more later

You're gonna regret that for the rest of your life... Both seconds of it.

I got home and I was bored, so I played a bit.

I'm still thinking about it.  20 years.  That's a long time.  Now, don't worry, because I'm not one of those maudlin types that laments lost futures.  I tend to think more in terms of what we have now, and how advanced the generation of my children is , and has still yet to be.

Hell, I remember when cd players came out, for crying out loud.  A t.v. without a remote?  Unheard of.  A black and white t.v.  You're kidding right?  I have a friend, L, once told her mom that the t.v. was broken because there was no color.

My 9 year old niece is faster on a computer than some of the people I work with.  It's just amazing, and it's only getting worse/better.  Technology, by it's very nature experiences what is called an 'exponential' growth.  In the simplest terms, growth is by doubling: i.e.  128k becomes 256 et. al.

Even things like microwave ovens.  Do you remember the first one you ever saw?  I do.  Was an Amana Radarange.  Huge, shiny, silver thing.  Owned by the 'rich people' who's house we sat while they were away.  Plush digs, too.  They had remote control t.v.'s, all big.  I remember when Jim bought a Sony Betamax/t.v. combo.  Must have been like 1974-1975.  Had to have cost beaucoup bucks.

Just my thoughts tho.

p.s. the old pentium is still winning...sigh...

I've got a bad feeling about this...

Wow...can't believe it took me so long to use a Star Wars quote.

It seems to have snuck up on me.  This weekend I will be attending my *cough* 20 year class reunion.  I knew it was this Summer, but I guess I wasn't paying attention to how fast the summer was rolling by.  Much like the last 20 years, I must say.  So, I've spent the morning going over my High School days, and the intervening years.

I'm at work, listening to Rush, and doing my lunch hour as I type this.  At least it's not sweltering in here.  I'm sure it's too hot outside tho.

The reunion starts Friday night, at a pair of local bars.  That should clue you in.  If the Carson High class of 1984 did nothing else, we did know how to party.  I can assure that the party will be on in Carson City this weekend.  I don't know how in the fuck I'm going to be up to start golfing at the ungodly hour of 8:30 a.m.  Time for dark glasses, and a Tylenol milkshake, I guess.

Well, lunch is almost over...guess I'll post this...maybe more later, and look for a drunken update late tomorrow night.  Prolly Sat night too.

Chee. Unlimited technology of the universe, and we drivin' 'round in a Ford P.O.S

Multi tasking, again.  Eq, blog, artificial respiration.

I swear, one of my hardest jobs is keeping old computers alive.  Right now, the task before me is to continue the existence of a Pentium 90.  Yes, a Pentium so old, it doesn't even get a I.  I'm reassembling my work box of the same make/model to (hopefully) get it to recognize a 9gig (sigh) drive.  Even as week speak, it's spread across the table in my dining room.

But, I digress.

I've been fighting this little grey deamon for almost 10mos now.  Today, however, it will bow to my skills. ( Yeah, right)  ...more later...

Wow...much later...it's Wednesday evening.  Karckdafrakkin computer.  Everything fell to shit yesterday.  I don't really want to bore you with the details.

Another day, another week, another month, another year of my fucking life.  Up early.  Walk to work.  Work.  Got a ride home, which is nice.  Sitting here, too hot to do much.  Was only 95 today.  I've started hearing the geese tho.  That usually means an early autum.  I sure hope so, although we have yet to even begin August.

I should have a car by the second week of August.  Heh.  We'll see.

Anyhow, guess that's it for now.
