Ok, I know.
You don't have to say anything about it, and I'm certainly not going to either.
I will say that my days have been really full, as my buddy Lonigan was in town for 4-5ish days, and that I haven't seen him in like 4 years. Needless to say, we found a lot of stuff to do.
Many beers were consumed, much bowling was done (yes i bowl when the fit takes me) and time was spent at the shooting range, tho that was sober time. I was raised with guns, and I would never handle a firearm after even a single beer.
It was good to see Loni, but his visit was too short. We didn't get to play any vids, but we did barbeque at Cliff's house (where he was staying for his visit) and just got to chill and catch up.
Other than that, tho, my life continues to be boring and too hot. Oh, and that Yosemite fire?
Yeah, you guessed it. Another week plus of smoke so thick you could chew it. We did get some wind yesterday, and by the afternoon most of it had blown out of the valley. I haven't been outside to check yet, but we can hope that it hasn't come back.
Ok, I guess I'm talked out for now....time to chase down a cup of coffee.
....I hate it when they run.....

On a good day, my commute is about 1 song long...
In fact, I'm not even sure I can call it a commute, which I suppose means I don't really have much to bitch about.
But where's the fun in that?
You might think it's a blessing, and in many ways it is. I just checked the time on the last song I remember hearing that started when I got in my car and ended as I got out at work.
It's The Spirit of Radio by Rush. The time listed on iTunes is 5 minutes, so you see, I'm not stuck in traffic for hours on end, fighing for every inch. I have it pretty easy.
Except for the radio. Now, I may only be on the road for 5 minutes, which I suppose is the average length of a song, but if all 3 (ok 4 if you count the country station) are playing songs that I don't like, or Heaven forbid, commericials, I'm fucked.
Oh, and it's actually 3 stations, because my favorite station KOZZ, took off our local dj's morning show and put on the Rob, Arnie and Dawn show, so I don't even listen to the station in the morning. Those 3 are a bunch of pretentious assholes, and I won't dignify their 'career' with my attention.
So, that leaves me at best 3 chances to find a song I like. I hardly ever put on the country station, not because I'm not a fan, but because it's pretty much there in case I can't find a rock song to listen to. That leaves me 2 stations, The Bandit, or The River.
The Bandit is classic rock, and The River claims to play 'rock and roll hits from the 60's and 70's' though they do play a smattering of older and newer stuff as well. So, I've got about a 70/30 chance of finding a song to listen to on the way to work.
There's more that I want to say, mostly about radio and how it's done, but I can't really get it straight in my head, so I guess this post will be continued....

We actually got a little rain last night....
Not much mind you, and it hasn't significantly lowered the sweltering heat, but I certainly cooled down rather quickly when I went out and stood in it for a minute or two.
I haven't really looked outside yet to see if there's any chance of more today, but I'm hopeful.....
In other news, my buddy Lonigan is coming out to visit. He moved to Colorado like 4 years ago or something, and this'll be the first time I've seen him since.
He's one of my vid game buds. Back in the day...like 9 or 10 years ago, we'd do marathon Gran Turismo races. Those of you who've never played (im guessing everyone reading this) won't know what I mean when I say we would run 99 lap races on Specicial Stage R11, but just know that it's one of the most difficult tracks on any race game I've ever played.
I'll never forget this one night: My g/f at the time and I had some people over....Like 10 or 12 I think, and one of them was Lonigan. Everyone, and I mean everyone was giving us a hard time about playing vids instead of mingling, and we were giving them just as much shit back. See, Lon's married, and only got one night out every couple weeks, and when he did, we both knew it was time for some GT.
So, picture it if you will. We're running 99 laps on a track that I think my best lap ever on was like 1:35:something. Yeah, a minute and a half. I told you they were marathon. Before we were 30 laps in, everyone, and I mean everyone was grouped around us watching us race and cheering us on. Then, as we always did, Lon and I sat and wathed the replay, drinking beer and decompressing from the race.
And so did everyone else.
Our races were that intense.
He's offered to pay for golf on this visit, so I've got that to look forward to. Tho last time I played I had such a crappy day it's not even funny. Well, unless you're not me and were looking for a good chuckle or something.
Anyhoozle, time for me to get my ass ready for work.

The tedium continues....
Yeah, still nothing fun or exciting.
That is unless you consider unrelenting heat, work, and sleeping to be fun/exciting.
Sleep is marginally fun, but when you wake up 2 or 3 times a night drenched in sweat, even sleep loses it's shine.
My days off are filled with beer and EverQuest, and eq, while fun for me, is not something I'm willing to wax rhapsodic about here, 'cause I'm sure it would bore you all to tears.
I think I'm going to eat something before work.....

Nothing....not a thing....
Part of it is that life has been boring.
Part of it is that I've been playing eq like a madman.
Part of it is it's been to hot to think.
All of it means I've been really lame about posting lately.
I mean, I could regale you all with my tales of eq triumph, but I'm sure none of you would be interested, or even care.
Cross your fingers, and maybe something exciting will happen that will actually be blogworthy.
