All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.....

Or in this case, T.J.

I swear, work is eating my brain. The deluge of 6 day work weeks (and 9 hour days) is really taking it's toll. The only consolation, scant tho it may be, is the money.

But I ask you, what good is money when you're too tired to spend it?

Yeah, I don't know either.

At least this is the last week of it. After Christmas, we go back to normal.

Of course, that doesn't help me this week.

Or last week.

I've been letting things slide a bit....

Not just a lack of posting, but also sloppy reading habits (sorry folks), and I've been absolutely horrible at commenting.

I know I love them, and I'm sorry I haven't really been leaving them latey, but I'm just so over being online right now.

I mean, I spend 8 hours a day on the computer, and then, once I get home, the last thing I want to do is get back on the keyboard, and when I do, I try and get things done as fast as I can....

Now, a couple things:

It was 4 degrees when I left the house today.

Also, it's supposed to snow from later tonight until like....Sunday.

What can I say, I'm stoked!!

Oh, and I've got those photos I promised.

Enjoy!!

These are from the other night:

It did this all day on my one day off this week:

And I found these at work today:

And, since it's Thursday:

That's another pic that Michael took. This one is from our first trip to Oregon, like 2 yrs ago, or what/whenever.

Well, all we need now is a brass monkey.....

Cause according to weather.com it's -4 today, with a wind chill of -14.

That is indeed cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

There seems to be a bit of controversy as to the origins of that phrase, so I'll let you draw your own conclusions:

Explanation 1.

Explanation 2.

Explanation 3.

I'm not sure which I believe, but whatever your leanings, it's FUCKING cold today.

Our high is predicted to be 32 degrees today.

Sweltering.

I don't know anything....

So, we got a bit of snow last night/today:

Well, it actually started last night (yes i have photos but i need to 'shop them) and it's still snowing.....

Oh, and they tried to call me in today, and I actually said no.

For all the good it did....

I have to go in tomorrow...

Sigh.

It's gonna be teh (sic) SUCK, but I fully intend to walk in, just to prove a point. I'm not sure what point I'm trying to prove, but Ima prove it.

That storm you've heard about?

The major storm on the West Coast?

Yeah, it's crapping all over me.

Tomorrow will be joy beyond joy.....

They're kiiiinda freakin' me out....

Let me ask you something.

What's the latest you feel comfortaboe calling someone?

For me, it's right about 9:00pm. I'm not sure why, really. I mean, I, and most of the people I know, usually stay up pretty late. Well, by some people's standards.

I mean 10 o'clock is late to some people, but if I'm playing EQ, there's every possibility that I'll be up until midnight, and if I don't have to work the next day, perhaps even later.

I don't really have a problem with my friends calling later in the evening, but it kinda bugs me. I'm not sure why, really. I mean, if I'm up it's not really a problem, and I'm usually up, so....

There are, of course, 3 notable exceptions to the above. Tammy, J, and L all know that at any time, for any reason whatsoever they are allowed to call. It's the bond I have with them.

I also know that it cuts both ways.

Now, that was a lot of set up for this, but I got a phone call at 8:48. Not only is that edging towards 'late phone call time' for me, but it also came during a movie.

As always.

Michael and I were watching Zombieland when the phone rang. Bewildered, I got up to see who it was, and saw on my caller id *77-xxx-xxxx and said fuck that, I don't know them. I'm not answering.

Less than a minute later, my cell rang.

Same number.

I go to answer it, and miss the call. I call back, and yes....

It was The Vampires. Has it been 6 weeks already?

Guess I'll be donating blood again soon.

Well, I figured out why I was so tired.....

Or discovered a contributing factor anyhow.

See, I've had a nassty head cold/sore throat/generally pukey existence for about a week now. It hasn't been fun.

Not even a little.

I promised you pictures, and now you may be sorry you asked....

See, I had like 15 that I wanted to post. I considered a collage, or doing it in parts, but I decided fuck it.

I did whittle it down a bit, though.

If this post's too long, well, tough tittie, as the kitty is reputed to have said.

Without further ado, I present Thanksgiving day in pictures:

The ever-present salami roll ups:

Spinach Dip:

Crackers:

The cheeses I spoke of:

Brussels Sprouts ala Strathman:

My Mom's Candied Yams:

The Main Attraction:

My 1st run at it:

The finishing touch:

Well, there you have it, Thanksgiving dinner in 8 pictures. I can assure you that it all tasted as good as it looked....

I'm full again just from posting about it.
