Morning.....

Ok, so it's Thursday again, and I suppose I can't really lame out already. I mean, this is only my third Thursday since starting, so I'd better post something.

I'm going to make you work for this one, however. In order to see today's picture, you're going to have to click here.

Happy HNT all.

Bleh

Yeah, that's pretty much been my day.

I wish I had more, but I'm still under the weather (what does that mean really arent we all under the weather) so this is all I can muster for today.

I'll see how I'm feeling tomorrow.

Buenos con queso,

What did you do today?

I went to work for a little while.

I threw up for a little while.

I went home and slept for a little while.

Which of these activities do you think I enjoyed the most?

Yeah, your right.

Puking my guts out was the highlight of my day.

Don't tell anyone, but I think I'm getting sick.....

I've been feeling kinda wrung out and dreary the last couple of days, and today I've been trying seriously not to vomit for the better part of the day.

I even left work a little early cause I was feeling crappy.

I wish I had something deep to share with you, but that's all I have tonight...

Tho, I guess I should mention that I have a new follower over there, so welcome H.K.

Leave me a comment, and say 'hi.'

Another awesome fucking family dinner.....

This was tonights fare:

That's Swiss steak, garlic mashed potatoes, and brocoli with grated cheddar cheese.

It was fucking awesome.

Oh, and I totally forgot to take a pic of dessert, which was Pop's home made apple cobbler and vanilia ice cream. That was fucking awesome too.

We played Clue again, and tonight it was Pete in the guest room with the statuette.

And no, tonight I didn't figure it out.

Well, I did know where it happened, but I didn't have anything else when D solved the case.

Hope y'all had a good Sunday.

Buenos con queso,

It was bound to happen, I suppose.....

Somehow, I managed to forget to post yesterday, but rather than beat myself up over it, or come here with lame apologies about 'how busy I was,' which was 'not at all,' as I didn't even leave the house, or some other lame excuse, I'm just going to accept it.

I've been blogging every day since January 1st this year, so I don't feel terrible that a day slipped by without a post.

Hell, you know how lame some of them have been of late anyhow, so is it really a bad thing that I didn't put up 3 or 4 sentances telling you how all I did yesterday was play Everquest?

I'm sure that's what you all think I was doing anyway.

And you'd be right, just so you know.

Do you rinse out your coffee pot before you make a new pot?

I only ask because I totally do. I don't know what I think I'm a accomplishing by it, but I do it anyhow. I dump out what's left (usually trace amounts) and rinse it out before filling it and dumping the water into the machine.

I mean, first of all, I rinse it out with cold water, which doesn't really stand a chance of killing anything that might be growing in the pot from yesterday (when the hot coffee would have killed it) and I only put 5 or 6 ounces in, swirl it around a couple times, and dump it out.

I don't scrub, and I certainly don't scour. Just a quick swish-swish, and into the sink it goes.

When I stop to think about it (its what i do) it's kinda useless.

If anything, I should just fill the pot over the dregs from the previous day and get an added boost of caffeine (goodness knows i need it) and just call it good.

Ok, so it's Thursday again, and here's a pic of me with my hand wrapped around one of my favorite things:

Oh, grow up you pervs...what did you think I meant?

Things never seem to go the way I plan....

Last night, for instance, I was wiped out.

I mean totally destroyed.

I went to be early, like 11:30, and yes, for me, that's early.

The first time I woke up, it wss 1:38. I didn't look the second, or fucking third time, but eh 4th time it was 5:26, and at theat point I just said 'Fuck it,' and got out of bed.

Coffee and a bagel almost set me right, but I was still tired. That was pretty much the theme for my day today.

Tired.

And it hasn't improved noticibly.

This no sleep thing is really starting to piss me off

It's been weeks now.

Maybe months.

It doesn't matter what time I go to bed, I wake up at like 5:30 am.

I know I bitch about that a lot here, but it's my blog, and I'll bitch if I want to.

The upshot of this however, is that right now, as I type this, I'm so fucking tired I can hardly keep my eyes open. I know that's a pretty exciting thing to share.

I'm sorry if I got any of you overexcited.

That was not my intention.

It's a futile effort, but I'm going to lay down and see if I can actually get a night's sleep.

Buenos con queso,

T.

As promisted, a better post.....

I'm totally sorry for the abundance of lamosity lately, but what can I say, I'm in one one of my 'grind 'til I'm blind' EQ moods.

Oh, and in case you're interested, yes, I did make level 80 last night.

Ok, for those of you keeping score at home, yesterday was Sunday. This of course means family dinner night at sis's, and pictures of said family dinner.

So, without any further ado, I present last night's awesomeness:

That's everything after grilling.

Pete helped me wash it down....

My sissa made potatoes.

Veggies on the grill

And finally, my plate. Just so you know, I ate all of that, and went back for seconds. It was soooo fucking awesome.

Next week, why don't y'all come on over?

We'd love the company.

Buenos con queso,

I'll be better tomorrow, I promise.....

You see, normally I'd just be skipping over these days in my blogs, but you know...

NaBloPoMo and all.

If it's any consolation to y'all, I'll prolly make lvl 80 tonight.

Yeah, I didn't think so.

Buenos con queso,

Lame is as lame does.....

And this is a lame-o being lame.

EQ again tonight, and I"m whipped.

Time for sleep.

Buenos con queso,

Friday, April 17, 2009

Ok, I seriously have nothing....

Nope, not a single thing to share.

Maybe I'll have some fun stuff tomorrow.

Thursday, April 16, 2009

So, it's Thursday again.....

And time for another photo, I guess.

For those of you that don't know, that tattoo is on my left shoulder, and contains the names and birthdates of my 2 children.

For those of you that do, well....I guess you already knew that.

I know yesterday was way lame, but I was actually still logged in when I made that post, and I was in a rockin' group with my guild leader, and I didn't want the experience to stop flowing...I'm almost lvl 79....

There really isn't a lot going on these days, so I'm lucky I can find anything to post about. Hopefully, things will get better soon.

Hope you all have a great HNT.

Buenos con queso,

Just so I don't miss a day.....

I'm playing eq.

Because I'm the grown up, that's why.....

Remember that one?

Did your folks ever pull that on you?

There hasn't really been much going on lately (well except for Easter) that's been worthy of talking about, and that as much as anything is responsible for my posts being 'less than not sucky' lately.

Oh, we did get some fucking snow today.

Yes, you read that right.

FUCKING SNOW

C'mon, it's the middle of April. Can we get this winter shit over and done with already?

No, I didn't forget about mailday....

I just decided that maildays should have posts of their very own.

The other day, this:

arivved in my box. The postmark made me immediatly think of Kelwhy, and I was proven right by the return address:

I opened the envelope to find this:

This is totally my sense of humor, and Kel hit the nail right on the head:

He doesn't let any grass grow under his feet.....

I'm referring of course to the Giant Christian Egg-Laying Rabbit. As I told you yesterday, we colored eggs.

We also did dinner at sis's house today. It was ham, of course, and some trimmings. You can see pix of this and the egg coloring below:

So, can you guess which eggs I colored? I'll bet you can if you try really, really hard. Oh, and doesn't the food on that plate look fucking yummy. Well, just so you know, it was.

Happy Easter, everyone.

Buenos con queso,

We colored Easter eggs tosay.....

Yes, I have picture.

No, you can't see them.

I'm going to post them tomorrow as part of the whole 'Easter Package.'

Oh, also coming soon: Mail day.

I love mail day.

My raid ran long, so this post sucks.....

I'm tired, and I can't really come up with anything significant.

I know I suck, but there's not really much I can do about that.

Well, at least not tonight.

An inauspicious beginning

Ok, I'm taking the plunge.

Inspired mostly by Q, and her display pic of her change, the semi-challenge she put in the post connected to the photo, and of course my total need of something to look forward to on Thursdays, I've decided to go ahead and try the whole HNT thing.

This 1st photo is pretty tame, as most of the others prolly will be too, bit without further ado, I present my first ever Half-Nekkid Thursday photo for your viewing pleasure:

Love grows where my Rosemary goes....

I haven't really lamed out on a post lately this month, so I think it's about time.

Although, come to think of it, yesterday's wasn't all that....

Anyhow, I'm playing eq while I do this, and that's making it most lame....

Have a nice day.

Buenos con queso,

T.

Tuesday, April 07, 2009

Why don't you man up and grow a pair?

So, another day has come and gone, and I still haven't gotten my million dollar check in the mail.

What the fuck's that about?

I guess that means I'll be back at work tomorrow, just like I was today.

If the mailman doesn't bring my check soon, I can't be held responsible for my actions.

I'm just sayin'.

Buenos con queso,

T.

Nothing grows here.....

Well, what doyou expect, I live in a fucking desert.

I mean, you can coax some things into life, but not very many.

Anyhow, I came to talk about family dinner night, not the climate.

Last night we had tuna salad, pork roast, rice with water chestnuts (yum) and gravy. I washed mine down with a Pete's Wicke Ale.

Desert was another delicious Eskimo Pie.

After dinner/desert/kitchen clean up, we played Scatagories. I'd never played it before, but it was pretty fun. Even tho we didn't actually 'keep score' or anything. I impressed myself by coming up with all 12 answers when the die stopped on 'I.'

What's the deal with that?

Oh, and as far as pictures, you'll just have to do without this week, because although I did remember to bring my camera, I left my SD card at work, like the big dumbass I am.

Green grow the lilacs

The only problem I have with using 'phrase titles' to fulfill the requirements of the NaBloPoMo theme is that often the title and what I want to say have noting to do with each other.

Which really isn't a problem, I guess, as that's often the case here.

In any event, if you want to know why white people are called gringos, go here.

Ok, so I totally meant to post these photos from our walk yesterday but since I'm a big dumbass, I totally forgot. So, here for your viewing pleasure are some of the items on the discount shelves at my local Save-Mart. Mostly, I chose them for their funny names:

Multimedia message

Did they really name something 'Joint-Ritis?'

Multimedia message

Granted, this is fish food, but if fish could read, I doubt they'd buy this:

Multimedia message

I think this is my favorite:

Doesn't that sound yummy? And just what the Hell's an isoflavone?

Yeah, I thought so too.

Exponential growth...

It's funny how these things go, but for no real reason, I've had nearly the same conversation with any number of people recently.

If you know me at all, you won't be surprised to know that the conversation was based on what I like to refer to as the 'tech world,' and more specificly, storage capacities.

I remember back in the dim days of my 1st semester of college I bought a Mac Plus which came with a staggering one meg (yes that says meg) of RAM.

I felt like I was a God.

Well, a Demi-God at least.

It took a while before I really needed a hard drive, as at the time I could fully boot and install system software and run Microsoft Word from a single 800k floppy.

I know, right?

So, time goes by, and I finally get to the point where I need an external hard drive. I sold some comics (yes i was one of those guys) and made more than enough to buy a...wait for it.....

20 Megabyte hard drive. At the time, I remember thinking what a gargantuan drive this was, and how I'd never be able to fill it up...

Well, flash forward to now, what, 20 years later, and I routinely leave the house with 12 gigabytes on me. Just in case you're wondering, it breaks down like this: I have a 2 gig micro card in my phone (27k+ photos left), a 2 gig SD card in my camera (1100+ photos), and my smokin hot USB drive, which is 8 gigs.

I'm sure some of you know that this kind of growth rate was 1st postulated by Gordon E. Moore. If you look it up on wiki it says: 'For any exponentially growing quantity, the larger the quantity gets, the faster it grows.'

If you're more of a visual learner, the green line below represents exponential growth:

It's that whole doubling thing again. There's a theory being bandied about that lends some ominious overtones to the growth rate. It's also the basis of the Terminator and Matrix Universes.

We build a better machine, it's just *that* much smarter than us and decides it no longer needs us.

That's pretty much the beginning of the end.

But, that's not what I came here to talk about.

Pops and I took a walk today, obstensibly so I could buy a couple RCA y-adapters, but also to get Pops some excecise. He headed to the store, and I the Radio Shack in the same parking lot. I got my cables, and headed over to meet him.

I found him in the meat section (thats what she said) looking at a truly remarkable price. Pork shoulder roast, shrink wrapped and well sealed for 88 cents a pound.

There was some hemming and hawing (we were walking remember) but we finally decided that we needed to get some. I mean, it was just too cheap not too. Well, we bought not 1, but 2 packages. I wasn't worried about carrying them home. I've carried bundles of firewood home from the store.....

Well, it wasn't bad at all, really, and I can now truthfully say that I've humped 30 pounds of pork.

Buenos con queso,

T.

It kinda grows on you

They say that about lots of things, and I suppose that it's true. There are some things, however, that do not grow on you.

Well, at least they didn't/haven't grown on me.

I've read a couple posts this morning that speak in glowing terms of the thunderstorms in 2 different parts of the U.S. If my memory serves, Ohio and Alabama.

Yeah, those lucky folks get a pyrotechnic surround sound display of Mother Nature's awesomeness, and this is the fucking shit I wake up to:

That's right, fucking snow!!

In April, for crying out loud. It was fucking warm yesterday. The sun was shining, and when I headed to work, there was hardly a cloud in the sky.

Now this.

Granted, it didn't stick to the pavement, so I don't have to worry about trying to avoid all the bad drivers out there, but it still pisses me off.

In other news, one of my new reads/readers (and a change spreader) put up a post about her change. It's a HNT post, and if you click on the picture, you get an even better one.

Go check her out.

Oh, grow up.....

Well, here I am again, victim of another crappy night's sleep.

I'm really getting sick of this shit. I mean, am I reaching for the stars here? I don't think so. I just want to be able to lay my bones down and sleep through the night.

No tossing and turning trying to fall asleep, no 'wake up 3 or 4 times and try to go back to sleep' nights. Just one night where I sleep until my alarm goes off.

Is it too much to ask?

I guess so, because I haven't been able to pull that particular feat off in I don't know how long. Well, at least it's Friday (well mine) and if I can manage to slog my way through the next 11 hours or so, I'll be free for another 2 days.

Here's hoping I can.

Ok, now since Herman asked for it, here's some of the shots from yesterday:

Ok so there you have it, my Thursday post.

A growing sense of dread.....

Once again, a title that feels dark and portentous, and a post that is not so.

Today was a pretty good day 'at' work.

Just recently, a boat in our warehouse dropped out of pawn, and we're going to list it on ebay. We've done it before, so it's not like a new thing by any means, but what was new this time was that the powers that be decided that I would be the one to go out and take pix/videos of the boat.

I'm not entirely sure why they chose me this time, but I'm glad they did. Jerry (our mechanic and the guy that got the boat up and running) and I debated it, and we were *this* close to going to Tahoe, but decided on Topaz Lake instead.

I won't bore you with the details, but suffice it to say that the first 5 1/2 hours of my day were consumed by that. I got back to work about 2:30, and breezed through the rest of my day. Well, at least part of the rest of my day.

And now, I think I'll play some PS3.

Buenos con queso,

T.
