Workin' in a coalmine, goin' downtown

Well, ok, not a coalmine, but my backyard.

The weather here has finally turned nice, so I spent yesterday cleaning all the sawdust (woodstoves do have a drawback) and assorted winter detrius out of the yard, restacking the leftover wood to reclaim the porch space, and garden maintainance.

Poppa and I went to Long's drugs, which for those of you that don't have them are similar to Ekards, or Walmart without the size. We bought some tomato plants, a couple pepper plants, and a couple strawberry plants.

We also bought a couple bags of bullshit.....Er, I mean steer manure. I borrowed a shovel, turned the dirt, dumped a bag, turned again, dumped again, turned again and planted. Whew. Sweaty work, as the sun was a'shinin. I was smart enough to do it in stages so that I didn't burn, but I did get some much-needed sun.

Then, as if to show approval for my day's work, Mother Nature favored us with a nice mellow thunderstorm. The lightshow was great ( i love thunder and lightning) and the rain, while lasting quite a while was very gentle.

Here's hoping that we get a bumper crop of veggies this year. Not much else going on right now, except for work. I have to leave in just over an hour, and I work until 9, not that any of you really care about my schedule.

Guess that's all for now.

Has anybody seen my life?

I'm pretty sure it was around here somewhere.

Boy, there's a lot going on. My new job is good, but they have been switching my hours around quite a bit, as we've had 3 different people take vacations since I started. Hopefully, it'll settle down here in the next couple of days.

I had computer problems....Don't ask. Have I told you how much I hate computers?

I've also gotten a 'summer project.' It is, in fact a 1973 Superbeetle (read Volkswagen) that I picked up for a mere $500.00. I plan on pulling the engine and rebuilding it, so if you see grease on some of my posts, you'll know why.

I've even been neglecting Everquest, which it totally unlike me. I did manage to get in last night for a rather important raid tho, so I feel better.

And now, on to other things. Suse has passed the music baton to me, and I have to admit to a bit of lameness in the music category. One of the things that happened in my last significant relationship resulted in the loss of all my cd's.

I don't really want to talk about it.

I have managed to get a few back, so I apologize in advance for the lameness to follow.

Total Volume of Music Files on my Computer:
Er....none. I don't have an mp3 player yet

The Last CD I Bought was:
Garbage 2.0

Song playing right now:
"Margaritaville" Jimmy Buffet

5 Songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me:
"2112" side 1 by Rush (it's actually like 6 songs by itself, but it's all one track)
"Separate Lives" by Phil Collins and someone else from the White Nights soundtrack
"Simply Irresistable" by Robert Palmer
"Crazy" by Patsy Cline
"Heavy Metal" by Sammy Hagar

Oh, yeah. I went and saw Revenge of the Sith yesterday afternoon. That makes all 6 in the theatre for me. And yes, I have the reluctant duty to tell you that I saw Star Wars the first it was out in the theatres.

Well, I can smell coffee downstairs, and I need a cup badly. 'Sides, I've nearly talked myself out for now. Off to read everyone else now.

Let's try this again.....

I was going to post a couple days ago, and wow, what a mess. I couldn't even get the posting page to load. Needless to say, I was pissed, but what can you do.

I like my job, in case I haven't said that lately. I'd forgotten (almost) what it's like to deal with the general public on a daily basis. It's not as bad on the phone tho, as I can have any expression on my face that I want, and the people I'm helping don't know.

It never ceases to amaze me what people think constitutes an emergency. I can't go into details, but gah!!

The only problem I've encountered so far, is the hours I work (12:30 to 9 pm) make it nearly impossible for me to raid with my new EQ guild.

I'm having a bit of a hard time this am....have published this twice so far without meaning too....

I must need more coffee....

I guess there's not really that much more to say, so I'll close, before I accidently publish it again, and have to edit AGAIN!!

Take care.

If at first you don't succeed.....

Scrap the whole fuckin' thing, and go to Jamaica.

I find it hard to believe that it's been 2 weeks since I last blogged. I'm sure slipping.

Work is going to be a hoot. All the girls are really cool. 'Course, I'm older than all but 2 of them ( i think...not sure about one of them), but that's cool too, 'cause I'm so young at heart.

Awwwwww. Damn...sometimes I'm so sickly-sweet I make myself sick.

One of my co-workers, we'll call her Cee, is a writer. I have to admit to a small amount of jealousy, as she's actually published. I bought a copy of her latest book, and I'm enjoying it immensely.

I'm trying to initiate her into this wild, wacky world of blogging, and have invited her to stop by my site. I'm also going to do my part to foster her blossoming career by putting this link up, and asking you all to order a copy, if you can.

My sister remembered to buy me some conditioner, and I couldn't be happier. I've been out for about a week, and my hair can be a real pain if not properly taken care of. I make my sister get it for me, as with her beauticians license, it's almost as cheap as the otc crap that I'm sometimes reduced to using.

I'm sure some of you can relate.

The weather is still pissing me off. We had snow last weekend. Yes, that's right. Fucking SNOW!! You know how much I hate that white shit. It's getting warmer, but there is still a distinct chill in the air. I can't wait 'til the transition of seasons is over, so I can start bitching about how fucking hot it is.

One of the advantages of living in a mountain desert, is that I get to complain about the weather year-round.

Well, I can hear the shower (and my conditioner) calling my name. I'll try to be a little better about this updating thing.

Have no fear tho, I'm still visiting you, my friends.

Habla no fuego,

T.

There's no fool like an April fool.....

I just realized that today is April first. Isn't it funny how time can get away from you?

Maybe it was the two weeks or so that I took off work. That always seems to skew my sense of time. They say that April showers bring May flowers, and we all know what May flowers bring.

Yes, that's right. Pilgrims.

Ok, now that the bad joke is out of the way, I'll go ahead and say that I think I'm going to really like my new job. I've always had good phone etiquette, and have been complimented on my professional manner on said device.

I had to sign an nda, so I won't go into much detail.

There is one thing tho; I'm currently the only male operator on staff. It's a good thing I get along with women. Grin.

I haven't gotten my set schedule yet, and to be truthful, I'm not even sure that I will have set days off. I do know that I will be working swing, which at this company is 12:30 to 9 p.m. For me, that's a pretty nice time frame.

I'm scraping the corners of my brain, and I can't seem to find anything else earth-shattering to relate, so I'll bring this to a close.

Fiesta con carne,

T.
