We actually got a little rain last night....

Not much mind you, and it hasn't significantly lowered the sweltering heat, but I certainly cooled down rather quickly when I went out and stood in it for a minute or two.

I haven't really looked outside yet to see if there's any chance of more today, but I'm hopeful.....

In other news, my buddy Lonigan is coming out to visit. He moved to Colorado like 4 years ago or something, and this'll be the first time I've seen him since.

He's one of my vid game buds. Back in the day...like 9 or 10 years ago, we'd do marathon Gran Turismo races. Those of you who've never played (im guessing everyone reading this) won't know what I mean when I say we would run 99 lap races on Specicial Stage R11, but just know that it's one of the most difficult tracks on any race game I've ever played.

I'll never forget this one night: My g/f at the time and I had some people over....Like 10 or 12 I think, and one of them was Lonigan. Everyone, and I mean everyone was giving us a hard time about playing vids instead of mingling, and we were giving them just as much shit back. See, Lon's married, and only got one night out every couple weeks, and when he did, we both knew it was time for some GT.

So, picture it if you will. We're running 99 laps on a track that I think my best lap ever on was like 1:35:something. Yeah, a minute and a half. I told you they were marathon. Before we were 30 laps in, everyone, and I mean everyone was grouped around us watching us race and cheering us on. Then, as we always did, Lon and I sat and wathed the replay, drinking beer and decompressing from the race.

And so did everyone else.

Our races were that intense.

He's offered to pay for golf on this visit, so I've got that to look forward to. Tho last time I played I had such a crappy day it's not even funny. Well, unless you're not me and were looking for a good chuckle or something.

Anyhoozle, time for me to get my ass ready for work.

Buenos con queso,

T.

Got a fair amount of rain over here in Reno too and some rolling thunder and lightning to go with it. Was still wet outside in the a.m. but nothing more than a drop or 2 last night, whilst I was hoping to sit out on the patio and eat dinner with the rain coming down again.

Kitty: Yeah, but his visit isn't costing me anything.....

Vee: I wish we had gotten more rain, too. We never seem to get enough. Also, let me welcome you, and thank you for commenting. I don't know if it was your first visit or not, but don't be a stranger.
