A Day at the Races

Had another one of those serendiptious days. My brother-in-law (for all intents and purposes, that is) called me up and asked if my son and I would like to go to the local circle track for a night of free racing.

As only a fool would decline such an invitation, we went. Asshole cop pulled us over for doing 51 in a 35. But in our defense, it's a pretty isolated road, nothing but sagebrush and sand out there. He didn't ticket us, and I think he was just stopping people to throw his weight around.

The races were pretty good. They ran my favorite class, that being the Supermodifieds. Picture a sandrail with a sheetmetal body, and an alcohol burning V8 engine. They're fast.

Anyhow, it's late now, and I must sleep.
