I know, I know.
You have to understand tho, it's not entirely my fault.
I can hear you arguing that, saying that since I'm the one that has to post, and I'm responsible for sitting at the keyboard and typing, that I'm to blame for the lack of posts lately.
Well....no.
I blame a lack of time, an abundance of tired, and a dose of apathy.
So, the fuel pump:
I'll make it short by saying that after waiting 3 days for the one we ordered to arrive, it was the wrong one. My mechanic was going to try and make it work, but it just wouldn't.
I won't give you all the gory details, just trust me.
So, he called Napa and our local Subaru dealer. The price quotes were $299.95 (napa) and $255.95.
I know, right?
At that point Pops and I were seriously considering just getting a new car. I mean, we only paid $900 for the Bu, and paying that for a pump (plus the couple hun we paid to redo the front end) and we've paid almost half the car again in repairs.
Well, the good news is, Pops found one at a wrecking yard, and it only cost 20 bux.
So, after a couple weeks of walking back and forth to work (thus the tired) I'm back on the road.
Oh, and I signed up for NaBloPoMo again for June. I'm just a glutton for punishment that way.

T.

Herman was right.....
If you read my comments (and i presume if youre reading my blog you read my comments) then you may have seen Herman speculate that I've been eq-addicted lately.
Well, he hit the nail right on the head.
They've been having their 10th anniversary, and there have been plenty of special events to celebrate same.
Not the least of which was a 'double experience' weekend, this past weekend.
What does that mean to you? Well, it means I didn't post.
What did it mean to me?
Ding 85, which is the current level cap.
There's news on the car front, but I'm too depressed by it to discuss it at this time.
Perhaps I'll spill the beans in the morning.

I've been kinda crappy at this lately...
And for that, I apologize.
I think it was the whole 'I was doing so good with NaBloPoMo thing' syndrome or something. Then I missed that day because I was at the airport, and remembered that I hadn't blogged yet, but as it was 11pm, there was no chance I was going to be able to.
Since the month was already screwed, I decided that I was just going to relax this month, and only post 'blogworthy' stuff.
So, as you can tell from my lack of posting, not much has been going on.
I've been working, of course, but that's hardly blogworthy.
I've been playing a lot of everquest, but I don't think anyone that reads here really cares about that.
We didn't even have family dinner last Sunday....Pops and my niece were both under the weather, so we called it.
Oh, and for those of you keeping score at home, the 'fuel line' problem in my car was in fact a 'fuel pump' problem. As in the fuel pump went bad, and has to be replaced. Again, I'm thankful that I have a mechanic on staff where I work, because with parts and labor, it's only running me $120.00ish, but it's still more than I wanted to spend.
Also, the part had to be ordered (of course) and didn't get here until Tuesday. Combine that with him being busy with shop stuff, and the end result is me, still walking to work in the mornings.
I've gotten a few rides home, but I've been walking to work for 5 days straight now.
I don't know if my car will be fixed today or not, but as it's Thursday, I'm not holding my breath.
I was thinking about an HNT photo, but I'm just not feelin' it.

I'll never love again.....
Fox announced their programming schedule for the upcoming year, and surprise, surprise, they cancelled my show.
That's right, it's official: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles 'has run it's course.'
Fucking bastards. I guess I'll just stop watching tv altogether now (except for movies) and just spare the world the ravages of my 'anti'superpower.'
Oh, and since it seems that foolproof birth control methond proves not to be quite as effective as I thought it was, I guess I won't be having sex anymore either.
Hmmmm.....no love....no sex....
Guess what?
I'm married.

PSP lied to me.....
Lied, lied, lied....
I won't go into all the gory details, but my day ended by having my mechanic tell me that my fuel line and filter were leaking, and my car was unsafe to drive because it could catch on fire. He's totally going to fix it for me (its great having a mechanic on staff) but unfortunately, he can't get to it until Sunday, as the shop's work comes first.
So, I left my car at work, and took the long walk home. Not that I mind walking you understand, Walking is fine with me at the worst of times, and is sometimes a preferred mode of transport. I usually prefer to know about the walk ahead of time, however. That way, I can grab my iPod.
One reason in particular that I don't mind walking is that it gives me the chance to find things on the ground.
As a boy (and even today) I have a tendency to pick up things I find on the ground. Well, unless it's roadkill or something. I tend not to play with dead bodies. Unless, unless I'm playing Everquest, of course...but, I digress...
My walk home isn't bad, (i think it's about 2 1/2 miles), but I started the day tired, and working 8 hours hadn't significantly improved my energy levels. So, walking home, sweating(it wasn't sweltering, but it has been warmer lately), and getting dusty (of course the wind was blowing its carson city) I found exactly nothing on the ground.
That, combined with my car news, and the other little crap that happened, made it just as bad (if not worse) that the previous day. , and I suppose I could have called someone for a ride, but I'm kind of a martyr, if you haven't noticed.
So, PSP, while I thank you for your good vibes and positive thiking (i believe in both), you should know better than to try and overcome the power of Thursday.

I'm trying to decide if I should blog today or not...
I mean, it was a real shithole of a day, and I'm not sure I want to bring you all down by whining about it.
Actually, it wasn't total shit, but, well, I spent a fair amount of time in my car for work today. I, as the 'extra' person, am oftne recruited to run errands, not only because I'm not well-versed in running the register, but also because I don't mind doing them.
It all works out, because they reimburse me for gas, and I'm happy to do it, not only because I have no problems doing things that by boss(es) ask me to do, but also beacause it gets me out of the store for a while.
Today, however, every fucking asshole in the world was driving the streets of my fair city. From the pair of assholes on the way to work (doing 45 and 35 in a 55 zone) to the dumb cocksucker that flipped out in front of me while I was doing 55 and proceeded to go 25, driving today was an absolute nightmare.
And it felt like driving was all I did today.
So, I guess I actually decided to post today, so if you're interested, see above.

Dinners past....
Ok, so I totally missed posting pictures of the last 2 Sunday dinner nights.
Here is the chicken and dumplings from 2 weeks ago:
And even though it's not traditional fare, it was decided that we should barbeque for Mother's Day. It was your basic hot dog and hamburger cookout, and these are the delicious results:
There's also a generous dollop of macaroni salad there. I will tell you that I didn't make it through all of that (had to save the burger for later) but was I did eat was fucking awesome.

Short and sweet...
I know, it's lame again, but I'm really tired.
In the coming days, I have a couple of posts that should be more fun.
These will include:
1. A Mail Day Post.
2. My review of the new Star Trek Movie.

Let's sweeten the pot....
So, even though I totally blew the NaBloPoMo thing, don't think for a moment that will stop me from continuing with the theme when it suits me.
Not a lot went on today.
Pops and I ran a couple errands, including a stop at Costco.
We also hit Walmart....
It was excitement too great for mortals.
I can only hope that tomorrow is more sedate, or I may die.....

Ok, so I've been a crappy blogger lately.....
See, it all started Monday.
Dave the roomie flew in Monday night from his trip back East, and I was his ride back from the airport. I had to go to Reno to get him, which is like 30 miles from Carson, but it's not a bad drive.
Except it was Monday night.
There's a 9 mile stretch through 'the valley' where high winds are the norm. Most days, the wind is annoying, but not really dangerous. Some days, the lighted signs warn 'campers and trailers not advised.'
Monday night, we had the 3rd option, which is 'campers and trailers prohibited.' Now, when they post this warning, they mean it. Have you ever seen a big rig that's been blown over by the wind?
I have. It happens every year, because some fucking jackass disregards the warning, and gets fucked over by the gusts.
Well, Monday night saw not only gale-force winds, but also a driving rainstorm. There were times when I, driving at a sedate 50mph, was passed by cars going 70, if not 80. As I was in the slow lane, the actual passing didn't bother me, but the sheets of water flying out from under the vehicles and totally obscuring my lane (and the painted lines on the road btw) were not conducive to a happy ride.
As you can tell by the fact that I'm posting, I not only made it to, but also home from the airport.
Now, the upshot of this whole story is that I remembered to blog Monday night...when I was at the airport 30 miles from home.
So, that was the 1st missed day.
The second day, I said fuck it. I've already missed a day, and since I've already fucked up NaBloPoMo this month, I'm going to take another day off.
Yesterday was an accident.
I totally planned on posting, but when I quit out of EverQuest and looked at the clock, it was already after midnight (how pathetic is that) and, much to my dismay, I'd missed another day.
That brings us to today.
As you can tell, I'm posting, and as it's a Thursday, I suppose I'll post a HNT photo for you:
Some of you will notice that this pic has been posted before, and some of you prolly wont. Either way, it's a picture, and it's of me, so deal with it.
Buenos con queso,
T.

Tonight, we had comfort food.....
My sister made a killer batch of chicken & dumplings.
Yes, of course I have a picture.
No, I'm not going to post it, because I'm too lazy to go downstairs and get my card....
I'll put the pic up tomorrow.
It looks like next week is going to be chicken fried steak.....
If I haven't mentioned, my Poppa makes a mean CFS.
Check back in the morning for the fabulous chicken...

I guess I can't call this Saturday Morning Movie Review....
'Cause it's like 9:30 at night.
I am, however, going to tell you about a movie I think you should see.
I don't know if I've talked about Shaun of the Dead or not, but it's relavent to this review. See, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are also in the movie I've come to tell you about: Hot Fuzz.
This movie is fucking hilarious.
I suppose I should set it up more, tell you plot lines and the like...and I'll get to that in a bit, but all you really need to know is that this movie is fucking hilarious.
Hot Fuzz, as you may guess from the title (or maybe not) implies a police movie. Either way, a 'police story' is what it is. It's the 'big city cop moves to the countryside' story.
As you might imagine, this presents a multitude of opportunites for humor and hilarity. Well, from the subtle British humor, to the broad physical comedy, you'll be laughing your ass off, or I'll refund your admission price.
If you haven't see it, I highly recommend it.
Oh, but you might want to see Shaun of the Dead first.
It's a classic.
Buenos con queso,
T.

What's in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name, would smell as sweet....
So, like a dumbass martyr, I signed up for NaBloPoMo again.
What the fuck am I thinking?
Well, the May topic is sweet, thus the title.
I noticed that even tho I had a lot of grow/growing/growing up phrases for last month, I didn't really use any of them. Not sure why that would be, but there you have it.
In that vein, I may or may not be using titles that feature the 'theme' word.
Only time will tell.
I can tell you this, however; I'm feeling about 1000 percent better that I have for the last couple days.
I think I'm going to try again with my 'Movie Review Saturdays,' so look for that tomorrow...
Buenos con queso,
