A change in the state of matter....

Or, what I like to call: Fun with Peanuts

And no, I'm not talking about the comic strip....

Nor the nutty goodness of these little guys:

No, I'm refering to the ubiquitous little snaky things that were/are so prevalent in the packing and shipping industry.

You know, these guys:

You may have noticed that there are 2 different types of peanuts in that picture above, and I don't mean 'e's' and 'ess's.'

Nor is it a reference that the ones on the left are whiter.

No, it has to do with what happens when they get wet.

As you can see, the 'e's' or maybe 'm's' aren't really affected by water.

The 'ess's', however are a bit different.

In this photo, you can see that something's starting to happen.....

Things have progressed just a bit:

And now, for the final photo:

Now that you're sufficiently amazed, I'll tell you the secret. The 'ess's' are made from corn starch....

In fact, I've actually eaten them. They're kinda dry, and have absolutely no taste whatsoever, but at least they won't find them in 1000 years and wonder what the fuck they are.....

Huevos con frio,

T.
